Excursion #1
"GreenH2 Innovation at HZB: Research for the energy of the future"
During a factory tour at HZB and at the synchrotron source BESSY II, you will experience first-hand how cutting-edge research is pointing the way to a climate-neutral future. In the EMIL laboratory, scientists are researching new materials for sustainable energy conversion directly with the high-brilliance X-ray light of BESSY II. The CatLab project, a unique collaboration with the Fritz Haber Institute of the MPG, is developing customized catalysts to produce green hydrogen more efficiently and cost-effectively. And the international flagship project CARE-O-SENE focuses on the development of novel catalysts for the large-scale production of sustainable aviation fuels. Together, these projects show how HZB, together with partners from science and industry, is providing decisive impetus for the hydrogen economy and the energy transition - and you can discover this on site.
